Volunteer Information

The Columbia Balloon Invitational welcomes volunteers for the following positions;

· Hot air balloon chase crew members. Become a member of the elite staff that supports the balloon operations during inflations, the chase, landowner relations, pack up and the champagne celebration following the flight.

· Field Operations. Field operation volunteers handle ground operations, crowd control, traffic control, etc.

· VIP hospitality. Hospitality staff volunteers coordinate the VIP areas, catering refreshments, handicapped guest and corporate entertaining.

· Tethered balloon ride volunteers. Tethered balloon ride volunteers are needed to assist in the operation of  the tethered balloon rides including crowd control, loading passengers, and assisting the pilots. 

· Media Coordinator. Media Coordinator needed to field request from the media to check in media representatives, arrange interviews, issue press passes, etc.

· Vendor Coordinator. This position is responsible for establishing contact with food vendors, site planning, set up and vendor operations.

· Sponsor VIP liaison. This position is to establish contact with the sponsor/partners prior to the event and coordinate sponsor VIP hospitality areas as well as sponsor vendor areas.  

· Scoring Officials. Scoring officials will work closely with the Official Scorer for the Balloon Federation of America. Duties include discovery of target areas, setting up targets, measuring at targets and reporting of official measurements.
